Today, we have access to all of the newspaper’s contents at the click of the mouse. The printed newspaper is growing more and more obsolete with time. It exists as a redundant source of information, its content more readily accessible and reliable elsewhere. This project aims to draw attention to the formal elegance and physicality of the paper, through the substitution of its contents with abstract forms and speculative language. Is there another potential use for the newspaper’s space? What else could live in that space? What does a newspaper look like when the content is replaced or removed? Can we re-discover beauty in the format and the layout of a newspaper by removing the text and treating it as an art form in and of itself?
